West Bromwich Albion are reportedly keen on Petros Mantalos.
According to Sportime in Greece, West Bromwich Albion have submitted a late bid for AEK Athens playmaker Petros Mantalos ahead of Friday’s deadline.
The Baggies have brought in Tyrone Mears on a free transfer this week, but fans are still keen for Darren Moore to bring in a couple of new faces before the transfer window slams shut until January.
Football League clubs can still land loan deals which can become permanent in January, and West Brom are seemingly looking to use that to their advantage right now.
Sportime in Greece claim that West Brom want to land AEK Athens star Petros Mantalos, and have put together an offer for the Greek club to consider ahead of the loan deadline.
It’s claimed that West Brom have offered €6million (£5.4million) to take Mantalos on loan, with a permanent option of €4million (£3.6million) included, meaning the total deal would amount to €10million (£9million).
AEK have yet to offer their response, but they must now think about allowing Mantalos to make a shock late move to The Hawthorns as Moore and co seemingly chase a major addition.
Mantalos, 26, has hit 29 goals in 121 games for AEK since a 2014 move from Xanthi, whilst he also has two goals in 19 caps for the Greek national team, and he could be a major coup for the Baggies on the final day of the transfer window.
