Rangers defender James Tavernier could be prised from Ibrox on Thursday.

According to Sky Sports, West Bromwich Albion have made a £3million bid to sign Rangers defender James Tavernier before Thursday’s transfer deadline.
The Baggies have opened their season with a defeat and a draw, having claimed a 1-1 draw at Nottingham Forest on Tuesday night thanks to a superb equaliser from Matt Phillips.
One of the biggest problems for West Brom was Tosin Adarabioyo’s display at right back, as the giant centre back was clearly uncomfortable out of position, and signing a new right back may be a priority for Darren Moore.
Sky Sports report that West Brom have now submitted a £3million bid for Rangers right back James Tavernier, and hope to land him before Thursday’s transfer deadline in England.
Tavernier, 26, joined Rangers from Wigan Athletic in the summer of 2015, and has been a regular for Rangers ever since, racking up 27 goals in 145 games in all competitions.
The right back’s attacking play has been outstanding throughout his time at Ibrox, possessing natural attacking instincts as well as set piece and penalty ability, starring in Glasgow as a result.

Many have criticised Tavernier’s defensive play though, and some Rangers fans may feel that £3million is a good price for the right back, even if he signed a new contract earlier this year.
Rangers may be tempted given that they would have weeks to find a replacement, and West Brom’s desperation in the final 24 hours of the transfer window may lead to a big offer.
