West Bromwich Albion, Southampton and Crystal Palace all want Norwich City winger Jacob Murphy, as do Swansea City, according to reports
Jacob Murphy of Norwich City is being chased by four Premier League clubs
A report in the Daily Mirror has suggested that Norwich City winger Jacob Murphy is attracting attention from four Premier League clubs: West Brom, Southampton, Crystal Palace and Swansea City.
Murphy has enjoyed an excellent season with the Canaries, scoring nine times in the Championship while also contributing six assists for the Carrow Road outfit.
His form earned him a place in England’s squad for the under-21 European Championships, and it is there where the likes of West Brom and Southampton have sent scouts to have a closer look at the 22-year-old, according to the Mirror.
The Mirror adds that Palace and Swansea target Murphy is being valued at £7 million, and despite having four years left on his current deal, he is likely to be making the move to the Premier League this summer.
Managerless Southampton are keen on Murphy
It is arguably hardly a surprise that the likes of West Brom and Southampton are interested, given that they have both recruited wingers from the Championship over the past year who have gone on to become integral parts of their squad.
Matt Phillips has been a revelation since joining the Baggies from Queens Park Rangers, while Nathan Redmond has also been excellent since moving to St Mary’s from Norwich in a deal that may have boosted Murphy’s chances of earning that first-team chance for the Canaries.
And with Murphy impressing during this past season, West Brom and the Saints will both be hoping that they can win the race for his signature and potentially repeat their respective tricks, while the likes of Crystal Palace and Swansea will also be looking to bolster their wide options by signing the promising youngster.
