West Bromwich Albion reportedly want to sign the West Ham United hitman.

West Ham United's Jordan Hugill

According to a report from the Daily Star, West Brom are ‘sniffing around’ West Ham flop Jordan Hugill, with his proven Championship pedigree being an attraction for the Black Country outfit.

The 27-year-old joined the Hammers from Preston North End in January 2018, for a fee believed to be worth £10 million, according to Football.London.

Hugill has made just three appearances for West Ham, however, failing to notch a single goal in the process.

The striker has performed better during his career when playing in the Championship, however.

He racked up 30 goals in 114 appearances for Preston North End, and whilst that is hardly prolific, it is still just better than a goal in every four games.

Hugill is a hard worker, and that will surely appeal to West Brom, although the Guardian did claim earlier this month that Slaven Bilic is not keen on signing the forward.

Perhaps much will depend on whether the Baggies manage to secure their first-choice targets this summer.

And despite his recent struggles, Hugill wouldn’t be a bad alternative for West Brom.
