West Bromwich Albion are set to seal a deal for the Wigan Athletic centre-back Cedric Kipre, according to The Sun.
The newspaper claims that Kipre became West Brom’s first-choice target after Shane Duffy joined Celtic on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion.
And Wigan’s administrators are said to have accepted an offer in the region of £1 million for the Ivorian, after he pushed for the move.
Kipre is now expected to agree personal terms with the Baggies, according to The Sun, despite the newspaper’s understanding that he has also had a proposal from Blackburn Rovers.
West Brom have completed just one close-season transfer so far, tying up a permanent move for the previously on-loan Brazilian winger Matheus Pereira.

But Kipre could be the first of an influx of new recruits, with The Telegraph claiming that discussions have taken about deals for Grady Diangana, Filip Krovinovic, Karlan Grant, David Button and Callum Robinson.
Kipre began his career at Leicester City and spent a year at Motherwell before returning to England with Wigan in 2018.
