Rangers star James Tavernier is still targeted for a move away from Ibrox.

According to the Daily Record, West Bromwich Albion sent a scout to watch Rangers right back James Tavernier on Sunday – and are likely to make a January move.
The Gers took on Aberdeen at Hampden Park in the semi-finals of the Betfred Cup on Sunday, and lost 1-0 as Lewis Ferguson struck the winner, heading home to leave Rangers to rue a lack of cutting edge.
Many players disappointed in blue, and one of those was defender Tavernier, with fans again left frustrated with his inability to turn in a strong performance on a big stage.
Now, the Daily Record report that Tavernier was the subject of interest on Sunday, as West Bromwich Albion sent scouts to watch him in action at Hampden Park.
The Baggies’ presence was noted yesterday with claims of interest in Aberdeen defender Scott McKenna, but it seems that Rangers ace Tavernier was also on the radar.
It’s added that Darren Moore is now likely to launch a January move for Tavernier, having already failed with an attempt to sign him over the summer.

Rangers are unlikely to let Tavernier go without a fight in January, especially having tied him down to a new contract until 2022 last month.
West Brom desperately need a right back though, and Tavernier’s attacking play makes him ideal for Moore’s approach, and Rangers may have to fend off major interest in January.
