West Bromwich Albion are hoping that they will be able to see off competition from Tony Pulis for Aston Villa’s Albert Adomah.

According to a report from TEAMtalk, West Brom are interested in signing Aston Villa winger Albert Adomah this summer but will have to see off competition from old boss Tony Pulis if they hope to sign the 30-year-old.

The Baggies are continuing to prepare for life in the Championship. After a quiet start to the window, Darren Moore now has three signings through the door with Kyle Bartley and Jonathan Bond both linking up with West Brom after Sam Johnstone arrived earlier in the summer.

And it appears that Moore is now looking to strengthen his options further up the field, with TEAMtalk reporting that the Baggies are looking at signing Villa winger Adomah.

The wide-man enjoyed an extremely impressive year in the Championship, helping Steve Bruce’s side to the play-off final. Adomah scored 14 goals in the league while also providing five assists for the Villans.

Bruce may ideally wish to keep Adomah, especially with Championship rivals circling, but TEAMtalk adds that Villa’s financial concerns leave the club vulnerable.

West Brom signing Adomah would not only be sweet as it would see the Baggies prise one of their rival’s key players away, but it would also see the club get one over on Pulis, with Middlesbrough reportedly also keen on a potential deal.

Adomah may perhaps not be a long-term option for West Brom – particularly as they will be hoping to make their stay in the second tier a very brief one – but he could turn into a fantastic signing for the Baggies, especially as Villa’s struggles could open the door for Moore to get a very shrewd piece of business done.
