Report: West Brom reject £1m Ben Foster bid from Watford

West Bromwich Albion have reportedly received a £1 million bid for Ben Foster from Watford.

According to a report from the Daily Mail, West Brom have rejected a £1 million bid from Watford for Ben Foster with the Baggies reportedly laughing off the Hornets’ opening offer for the stopper.

While Darren Moore may have expected some of his key players to move on this summer, it appeared that Foster would be one of those who would be sticking around. As reported by the Mail, he insisted back in April that he had absolutely no interest in leaving the club.

However, the Mail reports that Foster now wants to move on due to the club’s firm stance regarding his future and that has seemingly prompted Watford to make an opening bid.

But the Mail reports that the Premier League side’s seven-figure offer was quickly rejected and laughed off by the Baggies who would be looking for significantly more before they allowed the goalkeeper to leave.

It is absolutely no surprise that West Brom have needed little time to knock the bid back. Foster has been superb during his time at The Hawthorns, and while it may appear that he does not want to be around for much longer, the Baggies have every right to demand significantly more for his signature.

Foster’s comments in April arguably gave the club the right to take a firm stance regarding his future. There may well be other factors behind the 35-year-old’s desire to quit also, but it would be no surprise if Watford’s incredibly low offer leaves West Brom even more determined to hold onto the keeper.
