According to El Litoral in Argentina, West Bromwich Albion are keen to snap up Union striker Franco Soldano before the transfer deadline to boost their attack.
The Baggies haven’t had a hugely busy summer since suffering relegation to the Championship, but have brought in goalkeepers Sam Johnstone and Jonathan Bond, as well as winger Harvey Barnes and centre back Kyle Bartley.
Darren Moore will feel mostly positive heading into the new season, but there could still be key departures, such as Craig Dawson, Matt Phillips, Jay Rodriguez and Salomon Rondon, with the latter two particularly important given that Hal Robson-Kanu is their only other recognised forward.
Now, El Litoral in Argentina report that West Brom are keen on a new striker, as they are keen to sign Union forward Franco Soldano to give Moore another option in the final third.
Soldano, 23, has been a regular with Union and hit 11 goals and three assists in his last 27 games for the club, which has unsurprisingly attracted major interest.
It’s claimed that West Brom have been following Soldano for six months and have made a number of trips to watch him in action for Union ahead of potentially making a move.
Soldano allegedly has an Italian passport and would therefore qualify for a work permit to play in England, and he could be making a move to the Championship before August’s deadline.
