West Bromwich Albion are reportedly set to sign Northampton Town’s Richard O’Donnell.

According to The Sun, West Bromwich Albion are set to sign Northampton Town goalkeeper Richard O’Donnell following the departure of Boaz Myhill.
The Baggies are expected to make major changes this summer following their relegation to the Championship, with defender Jonny Evans certainly needing to be replaced following his move to Leicester City.
Craig Dawson, Jay Rodriguez and Salomon Rondon continue to be linked with moves away from the club, and West Brom also decided to release Boaz Myhill, Gareth McAuley and Claudio Yacob just days ago.

Myhill’s exit leaves Ben Foster as West Brom’s only senior goalkeeper, and with strong links to Premier League clubs, the Baggies now look set to bring in cover for the 35-year-old.

The Sun report that West Brom are poised to snap up Northampton Town goalkeeper Richard O’Donnell this summer, landing him as a replacement for Myhill as second-choice goalkeeper at The Hawthorns.
O’Donnell, 29, came up through the ranks with hometown club Sheffield Wednesday, but has endured a nomadic career, particularly in recent years, having turned out for the likes of Walsall, Wigan Athletic, Bristol City, Rotherham United and Northampton Town in the last five years.

O’Donnell’s best spell came with Walsall, and West Brom now appear to be offering him a return to the West Midlands, just six months after he joined Northampton.
The experienced goalkeeper should be capable cover behind Foster, but with question marks hanging over West Brom’s chief stopper, O’Donnell may not be West Brom’s only goalkeeper signing this summer.
