West Bromwich Albion are reportedly keen on Brentford striker Scott Hogan.
According to The Mirror, West Bromwich Albion are keen on Brentford attacker Scott Hogan, as well as Bournemouth striker Benik Afobe.
The Baggies have been surprisingly impressive in attack this season, as Wednesday’s 3-1 win over Swansea City means that Tony Pulis’ side have now scored 23 goals this season, more than Manchester United and Everton.
West Brom manager Tony Pulis
Pulis has long been thought of as a defensive coach, but West Brom have been excellent going forward of late, with the likes of Matt Phillips, Nacer Chadli and Salomon Rondon all impressing this term.
However, there isn’t much cover behind striker Rondon, and Pulis appears to be lining up the signing of a new centre forward when the January transfer window opens.
Brentford’s Scott Hogan celebrates
The Mirror report that West Brom are keen on Brentford striker Scott Hogan, who is being valued at around £7m after a superb start to the season.
The former Rochdale star, 24, enjoyed an impressive end to last season with seven goals in seven games having returned from a major injury, and his great form has continued into this season too.
Hogan has scored 13 goals in just 21 games this season, including five in his last five games, and interest is building ahead of the January transfer window, with West Brom considering a move for him.
Additionally, the report claims that West Brom are also interested in Bournemouth striker Benik Afobe. The powerful, pacey hitman has started just two Premier League games this season, and he could be a great choice to compete with Rondon in attack – even if he would be something of a controversial signing given that he used to play for rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers.
