Report: West Brom plot January deal for Everton forward Oumar Niasse, £13m fee demanded

West Bromwich Albion are reportedly keen on Everton’s Oumar Niasse.

According to The Guardian, West Bromwich Albion are interested in snapping up Everton striker Oumar Niasse during this month’s transfer window.

The Baggies swooped to appoint Alan Pardew as their new manager back in November, replacing Tony Pulis – but they have yet to really turn their season around.

Pardew has won just one of his nine games in charge, and that came in the FA Cup defeat of Exeter City over the weekend, with West Brom still waiting for a first Premier League win since the second game of the season.

With Salomon Rondon still blowing hot and cold in the West Brom attack, the Baggies have scored just 16 Premier League gaols this season, with only bottom club Swansea registering fewer.

Pardew may now hope to bring in a new centre forward this month, and The Guardian report that West Brom have joined the race for Everton striker Oumar Niasse.

Niasse, 27, was frozen out under Ronald Koeman before returning to action this term, and he boasts a strong record of five goals in 11 Premier League games so far this season.

Everton are believed to be demanding a £13million fee for Niasse, meaning the Toffees will recoup almost all of the fee they paid to land him from Lokomotiv Moscow back in January 2016.

Niasse has been pushed down the pecking order by the signing of Cenk Tosun, and with West Brom now joining Crystal Palace and Brighton in the race for his signature, Everton will be confident of selling him on this month.
