West Bromwich Albion are reportedly preparing a move for Michael O’Neill.

According to the Express & Star, West Bromwich Albion are planning to ask for permission to speak to Northern Ireland boss Michael O’Neill this week.
The Baggies parted ways with Darren Moore back in March, but bizarrely appeared to have little in the way of a plan to replace him, leaving coach James Shan in charge.
After missing out on Preston’s Alex Neil, West Brom left Shan in charge of the playoffs, but he couldn’t get past Aston Villa, losing their semi-final clash on penalties last week.
Shan won’t be given the job permanently, and West Brom are now looking at other options, including Chris Hughton and Danny Cowley – but the Express & Star claim that O’Neill is on the radar.
It’s stated that West Brom are expected to ask for permission to speak to Northern Ireland boss O’Neill this week, and he may well emerge as a top target, a year after he initially spoke to the Baggies.

O’Neill, 49, has worked wonders with Northern Ireland, not only taking them to Euro 2016 but also making it through to the knockout stages of the competition, against all odds.
His lack of domestic managerial experience may count against him though, and fans may prefer somebody with Championship promotions in the bank, such as Hughton.
