West Bromwich Albion are reportedly not prepared to cash in on Jake Livermore this summer despite interest from Crystal Palace.

According to a report from the Daily Mirror, West Brom are currently unwilling to sell Jake Livermore this summer despite interest in the England international from Crystal Palace.

Like many of the Baggies squad, there would have been serious questions surrounding Livermore’s future once Darren Moore’s side’s relegation to the Championship was confirmed this past season. The former Tottenham trainee is one of a number of players who had the quality to ensure that West Brom found themselves nowhere near the bottom of the table this year.

And while that quality within the ranks could help their promotion hopes, it also means that Moore faces a significantly tougher task trying to keep the squad together with the Daily Mirror reporting that Salomon Rondon, Jonny Evans and Kieran Gibbs are all set to be handed the chance to remain in the top flight.

The Mirror reports that Roy Hodgson is keen on bringing Livermore back to the highest level immediately with the former England boss eyeing a reunion with the 28-year-old who made his international debut during his tenure.

However, the Mirror adds that Palace may have to consider alternative targets as West Brom currently have no intention of selling the midfielder this summer – even though Livermore knows that it will damage his hopes of getting back in Gareth Southgate’s plans.

It would be a huge statement of intent from West Brom if they managed to keep the Premier League sides at bay and hold onto a handful of their key men who are attracting the most attention this summer.

Keeping those players will not only give Moore a better squad to work with when the side returns for pre-season, but it should also make life a lot easier in the transfer market as potential targets will see clearly what the Baggies’ intention is for next season.
