West Bromwich Albion are interested in signing Richmond Boakye after his stunning season.

According to the Daily Mail’s live transfer feed (15th January 2018; 17:05), West Brom are the only Premier League side to so far express an interest in Chelsea target Richmond Boakye, who is keen on a move to England.

The 24-year-old has been in stunning form for Red Star Belgrade this season, scoring 15 times in just 14 top flight appearances to help his side establish a commanding lead at the top of the table.

Meanwhile, despite winning at the weekend, West Brom still find themselves in trouble in the Premier League. They have scored just 18 goals in 23 games this season and currently sit second-bottom in the top flight.

Unsurprisingly, Alan Pardew is keen to strengthen his striker options, and the Mail suggests that the Baggies are currently the only Premier League side to register an interest in the Ghanaian despite the fact that he has previously been linked with Chelsea.

The Mail does not suggest whether West Brom are still keen on Boakye or whether they have any confidence about potentially pulling off a deal, but it would surely be a great deal for the club if they were able to land the forward.

If Boakye did arrive at The Hawthorns and managed to replicate anything like his current form in England, then it would be difficult to imagine that West Brom would still be in trouble come the end of the campaign.
