West Bromwich Albion are linked with the 29-year-old defender.
Calciomercato, cited by talkSPORT, have reported that West Bromwich Albion have been offered the chance to sign centre-back Martin Caceres.
The 29-year-old is currently without a club following his release from Juventus in the summer.
He came close to a Premier League move in recent weeks amid speculation linking him with Chelsea and Swansea City respectively.
But Calciomercato claim now that the Uruguay international could well join West Brom after the South American’s people offered him to Tony Pulis.
The report goes on to suggest that he would be keen on a move to England’s top flight, having already sampled football in three different countries.
Albion have enjoyed quite a decent start to the Premier League season and signing a defender may not be on the agenda.
Pulis’s men have conceded seven times in as many league games – the same number as Manchester City and Arsenal, and three less than Liverpool so far.
They have, however, only scored eight goals all season, and the veteran manager might be a little more concerned about that fact rather than anything else.
Caceres won the Champions League in 2009 during his time with Barcelona. He joined Juventus on a permanent basis in 2012 and won five successive Scudetti with the Italian giants.
