According to The Express and Star, West Bromwich Albion are interested in taking Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi on loan.

It’s claimed that the Baggies are interested in signing a new striker, and Batshuayi is one name on Slaven Bilic’s wish list.

The Belgian is surplus to requirements at Chelsea, as he is now behind Timo Werner, Olivier Giroud and Tammy Abraham at Stamford Bridge.

With Kenneth Zohore potentially on the move, Batshuayi is one player West Brom are looking into signing, but only on loan rather than permanently.

The 26-year-old has bagged 25 goals in 77 games for Chelsea, which is far from a disgraceful record given his lack of starts.

Since his superb stint at Marseille, Batshuayi’s main success came with nine goals and 14 games at Borussia Dortmund and six goals in 13 games at Crystal Palace.

Batshuayi has shown that he can score goals when given a chance, but he may simply not be at the level that Chelsea need or want.

Chelsea seemingly want rid, and HLN in Belgium reported last month that the Blues have actually offered Batshuayi to Leeds United in an effort to offload him.

Since then though, Leeds have signed Rodrigo from Valencia, and surely won’t be moving to reunite Batshuayi with his ex-Marseille boss Marcelo Bielsa – and that could give West Brom hope of a deal.
