Everton value James McCarthy at £25 million. Three Premier League clubs are interested in signing him.

According to reports from The Sunday People (printed edition, page 51), Newcastle United, Leicester City, and West Bromwich Albion are interested in signing James McCarthy from Everton.

McCarthy joined Everton in 2013 and has made 104 Premier League appearances for the Toffees. However, his importance in the side is dwindling.

The report claims that Everton have told McCarthy’s camp that he can leave the Merseyside club provided the right offer comes in.

The Toffees have slapped a £25 million price tag on his shoulders and the value is scaring off potential suitors from making a move for the 26-year-old.

West Brom, Newcastle, and Leicester are all reportedly keen for his signature, but they value him at £15 million, which is £10 million lower than Everton’s asking price.

Rafael Benitez is an admirer of the player, but the Spaniard has made it clear that McCarthy is not Newcastle’s first choice target this summer.

Leicester and West Brom are looking to sign top midfielders this summer and could make a move for the Republic of Ireland international.

However, any potential deal can only take place if Everton reduce their asking price, and come to a compromise.

McCarthy has a contract till 2020, and it seems Everton are in no rush to sell him at the moment.
