West Bromwich Albion are among the Premier League clubs hoping to sign £35 million-rated Ismaila Sarr from relegated Watford, according to Wiwsport in the winger’s Senegalese homeland.

With the Birmingham Mail claiming Kamil Grosicki and Kenneth Zohore could be sold to make way for new additions at the Hawthorns, the Baggies appear to be in the market for a versatile forward capable of playing out wide and through the middle.

Enter Sarr.

The Senegal speedster spent most of his debut season at Watford on the flanks but often led the line for Rennes in Ligue 1 and the Europa League.

Aston Villa and Crystal Palace have already been heavily linked of late, while Liverpool appear to have bowed out of the race after signing another versatile, proven Premier League forward in the shape of Diogo Jota.

But, according to Wiwsport, West Brom have entered the picture.

However, with technical director Luke Dowling making it clear the top-flight newcomers won’t “break the bank between now and the end of the window”, it seems unlikely West Brom would pay the £35 million Watford want for their coveted forward.

Sarr scored six goals and set up six more at Vicarage Road in 2019/20, hitting the net twice in the 3-0 thrashing of Liverpool.

He was left out of Watford’s squad for the EFL Cup defeat to Newport County on Wednesday, with coach Vladimir Ivic issuing an intriguing response when questioned.
