West Bromwich Albion are one of the Championship sides reportedly interested in signing Burnley striker Nahki Wells.

According to Sky Sports’ live transfer blog (8/8; 9:12 am), West Brom are one of the five Championship sides interested in signing Burnley striker Nahki Wells on deadline day.
The Baggies go into the final hours of the window desperately needing to strengthen their options up front. Kenneth Zohore has been brought in, but Slaven Bilic has been tasked with replacing both Dwight Gayle and Jay Rodriguez.
Sky Sports reports on its live transfer blog (8/8; 9:12 am) that last season’s play-off semi-finalists want Charlie Austin from Southampton, and are rivalling Bristol City for his signature.
And the report adds that the two clubs are also battling for Wells, along with Birmingham City, Middlesbrough and the Bermuda international’s former club Queens Park Rangers. The latter two have reportedly made loan bids for the former Bradford City man.

The 29-year-old has had a difficult time since joining the Clarets for £5 million in 2017 (fee reported by BBC Sport), but he boasts a very respective record in the Championship.
He scored seven times at Loftus Road last year, while he reached double figures during his final three seasons with Huddersfield Town. On loan, he could be a very good capture for one of the second tier quintet.
And if it is West Brom who manage to win the race, Bilic will feel a lot happier about his attacking options heading into the coming months – though it would probably not be a huge surprise if many of the Hawthorns faithful were keener to see Austin arrive before the deadline passes.
