According to the Daily Mail, West Bromwich Albion are in talks with Basel over a deal to sign defender Michael Lang this month.
The Baggies have yet to bring in a new signing this month, though manager Alan Pardew will be keen to strengthen his squad to avoid relegation to the Championship.
Given concerns over Jonny Evans’ future, a number of centre backs have been linked with the Baggies, but it’s now a right back being touted for a move to The Hawthorns.

The Daily Mail report that West Brom are in talks with Swiss giants Basel about a deal for Michael Lang, with a move potentially drawing ever closer.
It’s claimed that West Brom are still discussing a fee with Basel, but are prepared to offer Lang a three-and-a-half year deal to make the move to England, with the player thought to be keen on heading to the Premier League.
Lang, 26, joined Basel from Swiss rivals Grasshopper in 2015, and he has an impressive record for Basel, notching 24 goals in 104 games, including eight goals in just 26 appearances this season.

That goalscoring record will be appealing to West Brom, who tend to get goals from their back line, but it’s mostly as a defender that he will be wanted for, given that he can also play at centre back.
With 22 caps for Switzerland, Lang has been important for club and country of late, and West Brom now hope to hand him a Premier League move early into 2018.
