It has been reported that West Ham United manager David Moyes wants to sign Duffy this summer as well, with the Scotsman having worked with the 28-year-old at Everton.
However, according to the report, West Brom are hopeful of completing a deal for the defender before the squad returns for pre-season training later this month despite a restricted budget.
Good signing for West Bromwich Albion?
Duffy is a very experienced defender who, at the age of 28, is at the top of his game.
The Republic of Ireland international will be able to make an immediate impact at the Baggies, who will play in the Premier League next season after winning automatic promotion from the Championship.

Antonee Robinson future
Meanwhile, reported West Brom target Antonee Robinson has said that he will consider leaving Wigan Athletic this summer.
Wigan will play in League One after getting relegated from the Championship and are also under administration.
According to The Sun, West Brom are interested in securing the services of the 23-year-old USA international left-back this summer.
Robinson told The Liverpool Echo: “I’ll definitely have to consider moving on. Wigan need the funds and they’re going to sell whoever the most attractive players are.
“I was already up for sale in January so hopefully that means I can kick on. If it’s the best for me, they’re going to let me go. But that’s out of my hands as well.
“If I’ve done well enough then someone comes in for me and it works for Wigan and myself. If not, I’ll crack on.”
