A report in the Express and Star has suggested that West Brom are hoping to reopen talks with Leeds this week regarding a move for Charlie Taylor.

Taylor is out of contract with the Whites next month and his departure from Elland Road seems inevitable, with the Express and Star suggesting that the Hawthorns is his most likely destination with personal terms between the player and club almost agreed.

However, Tony Pulis has previously suggested that the Baggies could abandon their pursuit of the left-back if a fee has to be decided by a tribunal if the two clubs cannot come to an agreement, with West Brom fearing that they may have to pay considerably more if a tribunal is involved (via Express and Star).

But after holding initial talks earlier this month, the Express and Star is now reporting that the Premier League side are hoping to restart discussions and want to start making progress this week.

Although Leeds may be able to get a better deal by waiting for a tribunal, it perhaps makes sense for Andrea Radrizzani to try and negotiate a fee with West Brom fairly quickly.

As mentioned, Taylor’s future clearly lies elsewhere unless something dramatic happens, so bringing an end to the chapter in the coming weeks would not only allow both clubs to move on, but it may also give the Whites’ next manager a more immediate boost with regards to the funds he has to play with during the summer.
