Nacer Chadli has made just one league appearance for West Bromwich Albion in all competitions this season.

According to a report from the Birmingham Mail, West Brom are hoping that Nacer Chadli will be back in contention for the first-team ahead of the game against Watford this weekend.

Chadli has recently been out of the side due to a muscle strain, according to the Mail, while his future at The Hawthorns appeared to be in some doubt during the summer as he fell out with Tony Pulis over a refusal to travel for a pre-season trip to Austria.

Encouragingly, the Mail reports that Pulis and Chadli have patched things up since falling out, but the Belgian is still awaiting his first league appearance of the season, having only played in the League Cup clash with Accrington Stanley back in August.

And the Mail adds that after being part of the under-23 side on the same night that the Baggies’ first-team took on Arsenal at the Emirates, there is some hope that Chadli will be pushing for a chance to make his first top flight appearance of the campaign when they meet Watford at home on Saturday.

Having Chadli back will surely provide the West Brom side with a significant boost given that the side have generally struggled for goals this term.

Tony Pulis, Manager of West Bromwich Albion looks on prior to the Premier League match between Burnley and West Bromwich Albion at Turf Moor on August 19, 2017 in Burnley, England.

Pulis’ men have scored just four times in their opening six league games, and the only time that they have scored more than once came against League Two side Accrington in the cup.

Chadli – who signed for £13 million, as reported by BBC Sport, back in 2016 – may need some time to get back up to speed given how long he has spent out of the first-team, but if he can get back to his best, West Brom will surely look a lot more threatening going forward.
