West Bromwich Albion appear to be stepping up their pursuit of their next manager, according to reports.

West Brom sacked Tony Pulis at the start of the week as their poor run in the Premier League continued last weekend, and it appears that they are determined to step up their search for his permanent successor.

The Mail reports that Pardew has held talks with the club’s chief executive John Williams on two occasions this week and insiders believe that an announcement could be imminent – though the Mail adds that further talks will be required before it reaches that stage.

Wilder has worked wonders at Bramall Lane, guiding them to the League One title in his first season and leading them to the automatic-promotion spots in the Championship so far this term.
The 50-year-old’s managerial record is certainly impressive, so it is no surprise that he is being considered for Premier League jobs. But with the Blades flying high, and the Baggies languishing in the top flight, he may perhaps be wondering, if West Brom come knocking, whether staying put would be the smart move right now.
