West Bromwich Albion and Everton are both keen on signing the Manchester United midfielder.
The Birmingham Mail is reporting that West Bromwich Albion have the funds to meet Manchester United’s asking price for Morgan Schneiderlin, but are still not optimistic about their chances of actually landing the Frenchman.
The Mail reports that the Red Devils want an amount close to the £24 million that they paid Southampton for the 27-year-old, but The Sun recently reported that they actually want to recoup all of the money they spent on the midfielder.

But while the Baggies reportedly have the funds available to pay the amount that United are looking for, the Mail adds that they do not expect to win the race as they believe that Schneiderlin would prefer to move to Everton having worked with Ronald Koeman previously and having settled in the north-west.
The Mail suggests that if West Brom managed to get a deal done, they would be finished in terms of incomings during the January window unless they moved some of their players on first.

But with the club doing so well in the Premier League currently, it is perhaps time that they switched their attention fully to focusing on trying to sign one marquee name per window anyway rather than trying to bolster their squad with a handful of squad players.
Whether or not they manage to land Schneiderlin however, appears to depend on how determined Everton are to bring him to Goodison Park.
