According to a report from the Express and Star, newly-promoted West Bromwich Albion have a bid accepted by Queens Park Rangers for Eberechi Eze, but a move is unlikely.
The Baggies are looking to strengthen their attack ahead of their return to the Premier League. Slaven Bilic has identified Eze as a potential target but the 22-year-old is likely to move to Crystal Palace.
Eze had a phenomenal campaign in the Championship last season. The versatile attacker scored 14 goals and provided eight assists for QPR, and that has alerted a number of Premier League sides.
The Guardian reported yesterday that Palace are set to win the race for the talented youngster with a £19.5 million move imminent. The Eagles are clearly the favourites but West Brom’s late move has come at an untimely hour.
However, the report claims that Eze himself prefers a move to Selhurst Park. That is excellent news for Roy Hodgson who has been keen on the 22-year-old for quite some time now.
Palace are at the risk of losing Wilfired Zaha this summer, just like they were last time. Eze is capable of playing on either wing as well as in attacking midfield, and his arrival is set to cushion any blow that the Ivorian’s departure may cause.

Zaha-Eze partnership is still a possibility
The Eagles, in an ideal world, would like to keep Zaha. The former Manchester United man has been their best player for a couple of years, but he has been looking for a move to a bigger club.
However, Zaha might just miss out this summer as well. Clubs have been hit hard by financially over the last six months and despite Palace’s reduction in asking price, the interest in the Ivorian has cooled down.
Arsenal and Everton were battling for his signature last summer but neither side is expected to reignite their interest. Palace fans might just get their wish of seeing Zaha in a Palace shirt for another year, and him, along with Eze, will make the Eagles a very dangerous side next season.
