Bacary Sagna is on the radar of Turkish Super Lig club Bursaspor while West Brom and Crystal Palace are keen to keep him in the Premier League.

It’s almost two weeks since Bacary Sagna’s Manchester City contract expired, rendering the former France international a free agent. And, although age is hardly on his side at 34, it was expected that the right-back would have no trouble finding a new club.

However, he remains unattached less than a month before the beginning of the Premier League season. Fortunately, it appears that offers will still be forthcoming.

L’Equipe claims that Sagna has an opportunity to follow his former City team-mate Gael Clichy to Turkey, the former Arsenal left-back joining 2016/17 runners-up Istanbul BB earlier this week.

The report states that Bursaspor, managed by former Rangers coach Paul Le Guen, will offer Sagna the chance to continue his career in the Turkish Super Lig.

However, it appears that they may be disappointed with Sagna’s heart set on remaining in the Premier League. L’Equipe adds that both West Brom and Crystal Palace, who are on the lookout for defensive reinforcements this summer, are potential destinations, with the English top flight his preference.

And Sagna could be an excellent solution to something of a problem position at West Brom. Craig Dawson may have filled in with great effect on the right hand side of defence last season, starting 31 Premier League games in the role, but he is a centre-back by trade and would surely jump at the chance to return to his natural position.

And the signing of Sagna, who was still a regular under Pep Guardiola at City last season, could allow Pulis to reshuffle his back four. Still an elite level performer, the veteran full-back’s solid defensive ability and excellent deliveries from out wide would make him an excellent signing on a free – if they can beat any Premier League rivals to his signature.
