The Sun report that West Brom boss Carlos Corberan is eyeing a reunion with Nottingham Forest star Lewis O’Brien on loan – with Forest keen to offload as many as six players in the next few weeks to make room for new signings.

O’Brien, 24, joined Forest from Huddersfield along with Harry Toffolo in the summer, for a combined £10million. He started well, but his game time has since been reduced. Indeed, he has started eight games for Steve Cooper’s side.

The ex-Huddersfield star was superb under Corberan. He was the heartbeat of a Huddersfield side that lost to Forest in the Championship play-off final last season. But he has not been given the platform to shine at The City Ground.

Now, The Sun report that Corberan wants to reunite with O’Brien in the form of a loan at West Brom. He is one of six Forest players that could go. Harry Arter, Cafu, Lyle Taylor, Emmanuel Dennis and Loic Mbe Soh could also depart.

West Brom boss eyeing reunion with Nottingham Forest star O’Brien

It would be a good move for O’Brien. The chance to reunite with a manager he previously sparkled under, in a side that are showing all the signs of making a late push for the top six – and potential promotion. Forest is not working out.

Harsh on O’Brien.. Really, he has not done much wrong. Initially impressing, but being pushed out of the side given the influx of new signings at Forest. He deserves more and at West Brom, he could reignite his Premier League hopes.

There are a couple of issues. Whether Forest would request West Brom pay his £45,000-a-week wages, or a large portion of those. Also, if West Brom would be able to tempt Forest into a permanent clause, included in the loan deal.
