Momo Sissoko, during his time with Liverpool
West Bromwich Albion have made a decision on whether they will be offering Momo Sissoko a contract at the Hawthorns after he enjoyed a trial with the club, Sky Sports reports.
The 31-year-old joined the Baggies shortly after the closure of the transfer window, and after impressing during the initial spell, he was handed an extra seven days to prove himself in an attempt to earn a deal, Sky Sports adds.
West Brom manager Tony Pulis
However, Sky Sports reports that the Midlands outfit have now decided against taking him on permanently after recent events suggested that they no longer needed additional depth in the middle of the park.
Chris Brunt – who has not played since February due to injury – appears to be closing in on a first-team return after playing in their under-23 side’s recent game with Aston Villa.
Nacer Chadli inspired the Baggies to a 4-2 win over West Ham
Meanwhile, summer signing Nacer Chadli put in a stunning display to inspire Tony Pulis’ men to an impressive 4-2 victory over West Ham at the weekend, so they appear to be confident that they have enough talent in that position, so have no need to keep Sissoko.
While the door has closed on a move to West Brom, Sky Sports suggests that the former Liverpool man could still make a return to the Premier League.
Both Hull and Sunderland have been linked with the Mali international in the past (via Sky Sports), so they may perhaps be considering whether to reignite their interest after this latest development.
