West Bromwich Albion could reportedly make a move for Sunderland’s Jack Ross.
According to a report from The Sun on Sunday (14/4; page 61), Sunderland boss Jack Ross could find himself on West Brom’s radar after impressing with the work that he has done at the Stadium of Light.
The Baggies are still on the lookout for their next permanent manager after parting company with Darren Moore last month. The Sun on Sunday reported that Alex Neil had been the club’s top choice, but he has since signed a new three-year deal with Preston North End (via Sky Sports).
And it appears that West Brom could now consider a move for Ross. The Sun on Sunday (14/4; page 61) reports that the Sunderland manager could be considered for the Scotland job if a vacancy comes up, while the Championship promotion-chasers may also consider an approach.
Sunderland still have a fantastic chance to bounce back and secure promotion back to the second tier at the first attempt despite losing 5-4 in a stunning game against Coventry City on Saturday.
The Black Cats are two points off Barnsley, but have a game in hand over the Tykes. But it will be interesting to see whether West Brom decide to try and make a move before the campaign concludes as they also look to secure promotion.
After beating Neil’s Preston on Saturday, the Baggies remain fourth and look to be nailed on for a play-off spot, with nine points separating them from the automatic-promotion spots and seventh place Middlesbrough.
