Mbaye Diagne’s move to West Bromwich Albion is hanging in the balance, with Fanatik reporting the Baggies have hit an impasse in talks with Galatasaray.
While West Brom look set to hand Ahmed Musa a second stab at the Premier League (the free-agent forward is training with Sam Allardyce’s side as he bids to earn a contract), Diagne looks increasingly unlikely to follow in his footsteps.
Earlier in the month Haber7 reported the 29-year-old Senegal international was keen on joining West Brom and even turned down a move to China.
Cash-strapped Galatasaray, meanwhile, were willing to sell for just £5 million.
But, according to new claims coming out of Turkey, West Brom are no closer to reaching an agreement with the 22-time Super Lig champions.
That’s because Galatasaray want to include an ‘obligation-to-buy’ clause in Diagne’s contract. West Brom, however, would prefer a straightforward loan deal, one that would expire in just a few months’ time.

Fanatic adds both parties will meet once more this week. With the window closing on 1 February, it looks like we’re in last-chance saloon territory.
A physical, 6ft 4in centre-forward, Diagne has scored 11 goals in 19 games this season. He would also give West Brom a much-needed presence in attack, a more natural option in the number nine position than the hard-running Callum Robinson.
