According to a report from BBC Sport, West Brom could end up losing Jonny Evans for just £3 million in the summer if he remains at The Hawthorns through the January transfer window and the Baggies end up getting relegated.

BBC Sport reports that Evans is attracting a lot of attention this month, with Arsenal, Manchester City, Everton and Leicester City all monitoring his situation.

The Baggies want £23 million for the Northern Ireland stalwart this month, according to BBC Sport. However, the West Brom hierarchy may face a tough decision as the report suggests that he could be available for just £3 million if they remain in the bottom three when the season comes to a close.

West Brom have tried to discuss fresh terms with Evans as he heads into the final 18 months of his contract, but BBC Sport reports that he has no intention of extending his contract.

That may leave the likes of Everton and Arsenal in an interesting position if they are less than keen to pay £23 million this month. They could potentially look to gamble on the fact that West Brom may go down and hold fire on any pursuit until the end of the campaign.

It also leaves Pardew with a difficult situation to contend with. Evans’ departure at some stage in the next 18 months appears inevitable, so some may feel that dropping the asking price slightly this month may be the best way to go given that it will give the manager an opportunity to strengthen his squad and will bring an end to any potential uncertainty.
