According to a report in the Daily Mail, West Brom are considering signing Norwegian striker Joshua King this month.

The Baggies certainly need a striker through the door after Karlan Grant broken foot ruled him out of action for a number of weeks, and it seems as though King could be their man.

However, King isn’t the only name on the Midlands club’s shortlist, with the Mail’s report also linking them with a move for Newcastle striker Andy Carroll.

Carroll would certainly suit Sam Allardyce’s route one tactics more than the pacy option of King, but the pair’s recent goal scoring records speak for themselves, with King netting 18 Premier League goals in the last two seasons, while Carroll has only managed four league goals in three and a half campaigns.

Unfortunately for West Brom, they’re not the only club who are eyeing up King, with the Mail’s report also citing interest from Wolves and West Ham.

Tim Spiers of The Athletic has also claimed that Wolves are in for King, but he won’t be available for a cut-price despite the fact his contract is up in six months, with the journalist claiming that the 51-cap Norway international will be available for £10 million this month.

£10 million doesn’t seem like too bad of a price when you consider just how important his goals could be for West Brom in their quest for survival in the Premier League, but whether or not they have the finances available to them to do such a deal remains to be seen.

The Baggies certainly want a striker, so this is definitely one to keep an eye on in the coming weeks.
