According to The Sun, West Bromwich Albion may now swoop in for Wigan Athletic goalkeeper David Marshall.

It’s claimed that the Baggies want another goalkeeper, with free agent stopper Joe Hart a contender to come in as competition for Sam Johnstone.

Slaven Bilic is also looking at Marshall too, with a move being considered as Wigan scramble for cash given their financial woes.

West Brom do have Jonathan Bond as Johnstone’s backup, but it seems that they want somebody with real experience.

Marshall has played in the Premier League with Cardiff City and Hull City, and could be a cheap signing given that he is now 35.

Celtic allegedly looked at signing Marshall this summer, and The Scottish Sun claimed that he would have jumped at the chance to re-join his former club.

However, the Bhoys have now snapped up Greek international Vasilis Barkas instead, meaning Marshall likely won’t be heading to Parkhead after all.

With Read Celtic claiming that Bhoys target Albian Ajeti is now nearing a move to West Brom too, Bilic could end up signing two players that many thought would end up at Celtic this summer.
