West Bromwich Albion are on the verge of agreeing a new long-term contract with Craig Dawson as the defender approaches the last year of his current deal.
The Birmingham Mail reports that Dawson will see his current wages of around £25,000-a-week increase after playing a key role for the Baggies over the past few seasons.
The club and the player’s representatives have been in discussion over the terms of the new deal since May and the 27-year-old is expected to formally agree to these when he returns for pre-season training at the start of July.
Dawson was an important figure for Tony Pulis’ side last term, playing all but one of their Premier League matches and scoring four goals.

Since joining West Brom from Bolton Wanderers back in 2013 the right-back has played 148 games in all competitions and scored 10 times.
Although he generally operates at full-back, Dawson can also play in central defence – which is useful for Pulis when he currently only has Jonny Evans and Gareth McAuley as options there.
