West Bromwich Albion will have to pay a loan fee of £700,000 to sign Mbaye Diagne from Galatasaray until the end of the season, as reported by Hurriyet.
Baggies fans will certainly argue that, with Premier League survival still up for grabs, £700,000 is a small price to pay for a striker capable of giving Sam Allardyce’s struggling side a much-needed presence in attack.
Callum Robinson ram himself into the ground against Wolverhampton Wanderers and West Ham but the former Preston star is a winger rather than a centre-forward.
He’s hardly the most natural of finishers either, scoring just five times in 39 games for West Brom.
£15 million summer signing Karlan Grant, meanwhile, has struggled to step up from the Championship. Diagne, then, would be a welcome addition.
The 29-year-old Senegal international has been one of Europe’s most reliable marksmen since he moved to Turkey following a brief spell in China in 2018.
Diagne has scored 11 times in 19 matches for Galatasaray this season, outshining the legendary Radamel Falcao in Istanbul.

But with Galatasaray looking to raise funds in an era of financial uncertainty, their star striker is on the market for a bargain £5 million (Haber7).
West Brom would prefer to take Diagne on an initial loan deal – one that would set them back a further £700,000 – until the end of the season.
The one-time Juventus striker has even turned down a presumably money-spinning return to China to test himself in the Premier League.
