West Bromwich Albion and Aston Villa are reportedly interested in Everton’s James McCarthy in the January transfer window.

West Bromwich Albion are interested in signing James McCarthy from Everton in the January transfer window, according to The Daily Mail.

It has been reported that West Brom have asked about Everton midfielder McCarthy.

Championship club Aston Villa have also enquired about the availability of the 26-year-old midfielder, according to the report.

McCarthy has been on the books of Everton since the summer of 2013 and has a contract with the Merseyside outfit until June 2020, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.

The Republic of Ireland international has been able to play just seven times in the Premier League for the Toffees so far this season, creating one chance in the process.

West Brom are also interested in signing Manolo Gabbiadini from Napoli in the January transfer window, according to The Daily Mail.

It has been reported that the Baggies have made a move for the forward, with Wolfsburg, Southampton, Everton and Stoke City also claimed to be interested in the 25-year-old.

The Italy international has scored two goals and created two chances in 12 Serie A appearances for Napoli so far this season.
