Rangers goalkeeper Wes Foderingham could nearing an Ibrox exit.
According to The Scottish Sun, Rangers goalkeeper Wes Foderingham is set to leave the club this summer, with Nottingham Forest and Sheffield Wednesday keen.
The Gers are poised to tie up the signing of Allan McGregor on a two-year deal, with the Hull City veteran to make a stunning return to Ibrox, six years since leaving.
However, Rangers already have two senior goalkeepers at the club. Wes Foderingham has been first-choice since signing from Swindon Town in 2015, whilst Jak Alnwick has backed him up following a 2017 move from Port Vale.
McGregor’s move seemingly spells the end for one of them, and it’s now claimed that Foderingham will be the one to leave, as reported by The Scottish Sun.
The 27-year-old only signed a new contract until 2020 back in September, but it now seems that he will be pushed out of Ibrox this summer.
The report states that two clubs are keen to land Foderingham, as Championship sides Nottingham Forest and Sheffield Wednesday are both thought to be keen on landing him.
Forest only have Costel Pantilimon on loan from Watford and could pursue a permanent deal, but Foderingham offers another target as they look for competition for recent signing Stefanos Kapino.
Meanwhile, Wednesday could see Keiren Westwood leave the club this summer, and Foderingham would hand Jos Luhukay another option alongside Joe Wildsmith as Rangers seemingly look to sell the former Fulham man.
