Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has demoted Wes Foderingham to third choice.

Wes Foderingham of Rangers looks on during the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership match between Rangers FC and Celtic FC at Ibrox Stadium on September 23, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

According to the Scottish Sun, Glasgow Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has made Wes Foderingham his third choice for next season.

Foderingham was Rangers’ number one stopper last term, with both Pedro Caixinha and Graeme Murty big fans of the goalkeeper.

However, it seems that Foderingham could be let go by Rangers this summer, with Gerrard seemingly have his doubts.

Foderingham is now behind both Allan McGregor and Jak Alnwick at Ibrox in the pecking order, with Rangers set to listen to offers for him.

The Scottish Sun claim that Foderingham has no interest in fighting to win his place back at Rangers, and is now ‘certain’ to leave Ibrox this summer.

McGregor is now set to start the season as Rangers’ first choice stopper, with Alnwick set to be cover.

Allan McGregor of Rangers celebrates after Maurice Edu scored during the Scottish Premier League match between Rangers and Celtic at Ibrox stadium on February 28, 2010 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Gerrard suggested earlier in pre-season that all of Rangers goalkeepers were in contention for the number one spot, but Foderingham’s demotion comes as somewhat of a surprise.

Foderingham has attracted interest from English clubs, and if he moves on from Ibrox this summer, it seems likely that he will go back down south of the border.
