Wayne Routledge is likely to leave Swansea City this summer, and a return to former club QPR could be on the cards
Routledge has already represented The Hoops during two separate spells with the club, and helped the R’s to the Championship title in 2011 under then manager Neil Warnock.
Since then, the right-winger has been plying his trade in the Premier League with Swansea, where he made 198 league appearances and scored 16 goals.
The 33-year-old appears surplus to requirements in South Wales, and manager Graham Potter is likely to listen to offers for the former Tottenham Hotspur man.
The R’s faithful knows what Routledge can bring to the table, and even though his best days are probably behind him, his experience will be a benefit to the whole squad.
Queens Park Rangers manager Steve McClaren has tasted defeat in both his Championship, and additions to his young squad appear to be a necessity.
Bright Osayi-Samuel and Paul Smyth adopted the attacking right-sided roles in the games against Preston North End and Sheffield United, and McClaren would do no harm at all by bringing in Routledge to help nurture the young pair.
The Hoops take a trip to West Bromwich Albion next Saturday as they try to earn their first points of the season against the recently-relegated side.
