Watford are eyeing a late swoop for a pair of Championship left-backs with Cardiff City’s Joe Bennett and Queens Park Rangers’ Ryan Manning on their hit list, according to the Watford Observer.
It is three months since Jose Holebas bid an emotional farewell to Vicarage Road but the Hornets have yet to replace their long-serving Greek international.
And unless they can get a new face through the door before Friday’s transfer deadline, Ken Sema will be forced to carry the can for the next ten weeks in an unfamiliar left-wingback role.
Reports in Hertfordshire claim Watford have set their sights on three transfer targets, including a pair of proven Championship performers as well as Chelsea’s £14 million forgotten man Abdul Baba Rahman.
The aggressive and attack-minded Manning, who can also play in midfield, has only one year left on his contract and QPR may be willing to cash in if they receive an offer of about £5 million (Star).

Bennett, meanwhile, secured promotion from the Championship under Neil Warnock at Cardiff two years ago.
The report adds that Kiko Femenia also hopes to secure a move away from Watford but Spartak Moscow is unlikely to be his destination with the Russians expected to sign Victor Moses instead.
