The Liverpool teenager could be on his way to Watford this month.
According to a report from the Daily Mail, Watford and Liverpool will hold talks this week in a bid to thrash out a deal for Reds striker Jerome Sinclair.
The 19-year-old is allegedly refusing to sign a new deal at Anfield and will instead head for pastures new. But although Watford are interested they are reluctant to pay Liverpool’s £3million asking price this month.
There is an alternative that would not go down well at Anfield, with Watford using one of their sister clubs – Granada or Udinese – to agree a pre-contract agreement with Sinclair, thus securing him for a knock-down fee, but the Hornets reportedly have no intention of doing that and want to be fair to Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Sinclair is a highly regarded young striker who has shone for Liverpool in their youth sides, but after just four first-team appearances for the Reds it seems he is ready to wave goodbye.
The Mail claims Watford and Liverpool will hold talks this week in a bid to come to an agreement that suits all parties, with the Hornets unwilling to pay £3million for the teenager.
There is no doubt that if Sinclair lives up to his considerable potential he would prove to be a wonderful addition to Watford’s squad.
