Javi Gracia’s Watford will have to look elsewhere as Serie A side Lazio have reportedly moved in for Copenhagen’s Denis Vavro.

Tuttomercatoweb reported earlier this week that Premier League side Watford had tabled an £8 million bid for the Slovakian but if the latest reports are to be believed, Javi Gracia has missed out on a brilliant young centre-half.
Vavro played a staggering 50 games for Copenhagen in all competitions last season and was arguably one of their best players. Standing at 6 feet 3 inches tall, his physicality and ability to bully people off the ball seemed like he would have been a perfect fit for the Premier League but Watford will now to have to look elsewhere.
The Hornets are on a high after a hugely impressive season in the Premier League and in the FA Cup where they made it to the final. Gracia has worked wonders at Vicarage road but this summer’s transfer window will be hugely crucial for the club’s progression.

The 6-0 thumping at the hands of Manchester City in the final of the FA Cup made the need for a new defender a lot more evident than it had been. Sebastian Prodl, Adrian Mariappa and Miguel Britos all need to be replaced by the Hornets this summer. Whoever comes in should be good enough to help the club progress further than they did last season.
Gracia was onto a gem in Denis Vavro but with him now gone, Watford will have to identify another brilliant young player; something that they have done very well in recent years with the likes of Richarlison, Gerard Deulofeu and Christian Kabasele among others.
