Watford are close to completing a deal for Andre Carrillo.

According to reports from Portuguese publication, O Jogo (printed edition; press reader) Watford are close to completing loan move for Benfica winger Andre Carrillo.

The 26-year-old is a Peruvian international, and has represented his country 34 times so far. He joined Benfica last summer from Sporting but has failed to make a strong impression.

He scored two goals in 20 league appearances for the club, and Benfica are ready to sanction a loan deal for him.

Carrillo, who has previously played under Marco Silva at Sporting Lisbon in the 2014-15 campaign, will become Watford’s eighth new arrival this summer.

The Telegraph adds that Watford could include an option for permanent deal at around £13.5million. The report claims that the negotiation are ongoing between the two clubs, but Silva has refused to comment on the speculation.

Watford have already signed Andre Gray, for a club record of up to £18.5million, Richarlison, Nathaniel Chalobah, Will Hughes, Kiko Femenia and Daniel Bachmann this summer.

Silva wants Watford to play in a flexible 4-3-3 formation, and Carrillo could turn out to be a smart signing as the player can play as a winger or a second striker.
