According to Sky Sports, Watford have made a bid for West Bromwich Albion’s Saido Berahino.
The report claims that as many as three Premier League clubs have enquired about the striker’s availability this week but Watford are the only club to have make an official offer.
The Hornets are looking to strengthen their squad this summer following their successful return to the Premier League this past season.
Watford finished in a safe mid-table position, and as of next season they will be playing under the guidance of highly-rated former Napoli manager Walter Marrazzi who will look to continue their progress.
Speculation has surrounded the future of Troy Deeney amid Leicester City interest (Sky Sports), and Berahino could be considered a potential replacement for the 27-year-old.
Berahino, 22, burst onto the scene with the Baggies two years ago and his 14-goal haul during the 2014/15 campaign prompted Tottenham Hotspur to make a series of bids for him last summer.
However, West Brom retained the services of their top man though his form since hasn’t lived up to expectations and with one year left on his contract he is expected to leave this time around.
Crystal Palace, Stoke City and Everton have all been accredited with an interest (Daily Mail), but Watford seem to have pushed to the front of the queue with an official bid for the West Brom man.
