Watford have launched a bid of around £4.5 million for Reims left-back Hassane Kamara, according to FootMercato, with the Hornets stepping up their chase of a Crystal Palace and Brighton target.
When Baba Rahman arrived at Reims in January 2019, Kamara (above, far right) must have been wondering where the next game was coming from.
But to say the 26-year-old Frenchman has stepped up his game over the last 18 months or so would be an understatement of epic proportions.
Kamara has gone from strength to strength across the Channel and even forced Baba, the £18 million Chelsea loanee, out of the starting XI.
The forgotten man of Stamford Bridge was even forced to cut his loan spell short, and head to Real Mallorca instead, with Kamara holding onto a place in the first-team with a vice-like grip.
But with just 12 months left on his contract, Reims are facing up to the prospect of selling one of their star players this summer.

Crystal Palace and Brighton have shown an interest, though it is Nigel Pearson’s Watford who have made the first move.
The Hornets have put an offer totalling £4.5 million on the table, though they will face competition from a Marseille side who recently qualified for the Champions League under Andre Villas-Boas.
Adam Masina has impressed at left-back for Watford in recent months though Jose Holebas, the long-serving Greece international, will turn 36 before the end of June.
