Watford have reportedly lodged an official complaint against Everton to the Premier League.
Watford have decided to launch an official complaint against Everton over the attempted swoop for their former manager’s services, alleging that the Blues did not follow the correct and just protocol in their pursuit, according to Sky Sports News.
According to the report, all attempts to find a solution to the initial dispute have failed and the case will drag on, as Watford feel it is necessary to protect their club.
The organising body for the competition has called for a truce between the two English sides, but the feud has now unceremoniously dragged on for over four months, and the league may now be forced to convene a commission to settle the issue.
Watford are still understandably irked by Everton’s attempts to unsettle Silva over a two-month period during his preliminary stages at Vicarage Road, with reported offers of up to £12 million, in an attempt to hijack his services early.
And Watford remain “convinced” that Silva would still be at the helm of the club and would be going strong, if it were not for Everton’s antics, according to Sky Sports News.
“The club is convinced the appointment of Silva was the right one and had it not been for the unwarranted approach by a Premier League rival for his services we would have continued to prosper under his leadership.”
