Watford are set to battle West Ham United for the Anderlecht ace’s signature.

A report emanating from Belgium today claims that the Hornets have joined the Hammers in the race to sign Anderlecht ace Leander Dendoncker, according to Belgian media outlet HLN, as Javi Gracia looks to bolster his midfield ranks at Vicarage Road.
The 22-year-old is one of Europe’s most highly coveted young players, and has attracted attention from the length and breadth of the continent, after showcasing his superb talent on a consistent basis for Anderlecht over the past two or three years.

One of those clubs is Watford, according to HLN, who claim that Gracia is a big fan of Dendoncker.
The Belgian media outlet suggest that the Hertfordshire outfit have joined West Ham in the race to obtain the cultured midfielder’s signature before the transfer window slams shut in four days time.

He is already relatively experienced despite his tender years, having made 139 appearances for his club in all competitions, and he would undoubtedly add something extra to Watford’s midfield.
With his impressive array of passing skills, he would help improve upon the fluidity of their play through the middle of the park, and his powerful frame makes him the ideal fit for the robust nature of the Premier League.
Anderlecht value Dendoncker at around £25 million, according to Sky Sports, and that would represent excellent value in today’s ludicrously inflated transfer market.
