Watford want the Manchester United youngster but he could have a role to play at Old Trafford this season.
According to the Daily Mail, Watford are keen to bring Manchester United defender Timothy Fosu-Mensah in on loan, but Jose Mourinho is yet to decide who he is willing to lose temporarily this summer.
The young Dutchman is one of United’s most exciting teenage prospects and he has shone for the club during their pre-season tour of the United States.

While many feel he will ultimately play as a holding midfielder or a centre-back, Fosu-Mensah is currently impressing at right-back for United and he would be a worthy alternative to Antonio Valencia when the Ecuador international is unavailable.
However, he is ready to play regularly and it is up to Mourinho to decide whether to use him far more than he did last season or send him out on loan where he can continue his development.
Watford would be signing a brilliant young player for the campaign if they can convince United to do business, although fans of the Red Devils are desperate to see the 19-year-old stay at Old Trafford and get the chances his summer performances deserve.
Fosu-Mensah signed for United from Ajax’s academy and was given his debut under former boss Louis van Gaal. Mourinho only used him sparingly last season and Watford could see this as the ideal opportunity to nab a short-term bargain who would considerably improve their defensive options.
United will reportedly decide who to send out on loan after the Super Cup final against Real Madrid on 8 August and Watford will be keeping their fingers crossed.
